HIKING: Lake Monroe Conservation Area

← FL HOWELL CREEK SLAVIA FL Triple Blaze →

Description

Cattle are free ranged on the conservation land, and there are a few old farm structures (barns, corrales, etc.) that are not marked on any maps. Also, there are 2 campsites and a foul weather shelter on the St. Johns River. Most of the land is sabal palm and oak hammock in the expansive flood plain of the St. Johns River. That being said, after lots of rain, or during the summer, the trails may be under 3 to 5 feet of water in places.

Directions

Trail head parking lot is about 3 miles north of SR 46 on SR 415
